“We treat the body as a whole and try to find the root cause of the problem, not just the symptoms. We strive to be considerate, polite and give our best each and every visit.”
Dr. Samuel Gunderman Jr. grew up in rural upstate New York and has been a practicing chiropractor for nearly 40 years. He became a chiropractor through a fateful chance encounter when he was working as a middle school principal. One day the father of a suspended student, who was a chiropractor, told him that he should find a different profession and become a chiropractor like him. Two years later, tired of the paperwork, he gave the man a call and never looked back.
Dr. Samuel Gunderman Jr. earned his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from the State University of New York Oneonta before obtaining master’s degrees in both Secondary Education and Educational Administration. After deciding that he wanted to go into chiropractic care, Dr. Samuel Gunderman Jr. earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Life Chiropractic University. He holds a Pierce-Stillwagon Certificate and is trained in animal adjusting. Within the field, his areas of interest include animal adjusting, cold and hot laser, softwave and interferential therapies.
Dr. Gunderman Jr.’s favorite part of his job is helping patients from all different walks of life every day. He prefers to treat the body through his natural and alternative methods rather than medication. Further, he has witnessed the many benefits of chiropractic care, which can be truly life-changing.
Outside of the office, Dr. Samuel Gunderman Jr. enjoys golfing, camping and reading. You can find him spending time with his wife, Marie, and their three children, Sam, Bonnie and Dan. Two of his children work with him at the practice, for which he is honored.
